Neat Places to fish in the Ozarks
Wildernet "Your Guide to Outdoor Recreation" includes 37 descriptions of places to fish in
Arkansas Natural Forests & Parks, Regions, & Rivers & Streams. Just click on Arkansas in the drop
down box & choose fishing in the other box. Or, choose any activity you are interested in.
Of course, where there's good fishin' there's usually good hiking, swimming, & camping!
CROOKED CREEK runs East across Marion County. Known as "the blue ribbon smallmouth stream of the
state". Crooked Creek is also home to many other fish, including channel catfish. The section between
Pyatt and Yellville is used for most recreation purposes while the shallower sections provide the beautiful crystal clear waters of the typical Ozark stream for wading and playing in.

Arkansas State Park website. I sometimes experience difficulty reaching this site, but the hiking info provided is well worth trying again another day.
"Cool Hiking Trails"
Beautiful scenic photography and well organized hiking information.
The Barefoot Traveler
The Barefoot Traveler includes excellent photography. Well written hiking adventures and other Ozark
escapades are provided at no cost or even personal risk! This particular article about the Diamond Hills
Country Club is quite tame in comparison to his other works but I directed you to this as an
example of the civilities offered in our Lead Hill area.
Be sure to check out his much more exciting Ozark experiences.
Ozark Old Mill Tour
5 beautiful Ozark mills on a scenic drive. I have personally taken this tour many times and never
tire of it. The mills are geographically located in an almost circular pattern which makes it
easy to view all of them in a day. To see classic pictures, maps, and obtain directions click on the
Running Rivers website link above.
Running River: The Virtual Ozarks
An absolutely wonderful site with a multitude of links to Ozark writers, maps of major rivers &
lakes, scenic Ozark photography, and much more. Lots of graphics, so please allow for loading, it's well worth it.
